Before beginning her clinical training, Anyssa spent nearly a decade at TED, producing films that highlighted diverse voices and human stories. Earlier in her career, she worked in Learning and Development at Barclays Capital and as an Executive Assistant at the Bahá'í World Centre in Haifa, Israel.

Born to an Iranian immigrant father and an American mother, Anyssa was raised in Saipan, South Korea, Israel, and England. These experiences fostered a lifelong appreciation for cultural diversity, community, and the many ways people find meaning and connection. Her background in photography, film, and visual storytelling continues to influence the way she listens—with attention to both what is spoken and what remains unspoken.
